A patient came in yesterday on a Sunday with No Dental Insurance.He had cracked his front tooth and needed a root canal post and crown.He called his old Dentist who said he would come in but it would be $100 to open the office.Which,is fair on a Sunday.The problem was that the fee for the crown was $1,100 the post $275 and the root canal $550. He paid the $100 and had to leave.He said he saw this Blog and called about 2:30 pm and asked if he could have me look at it.My staff went over a Discount plan & his total fee came to $500 crown & root canal was not needed.I just got off the phone with him and he said he was thankful ,and on his way to work.He said he will see me next week to insert his porcelain crown & was happy with his Temporary crown until then.
Oh,He also had to pay $59 for the Discount Dental plan but he will need a good cleaning anyway the day we put in his crown next week.The fee for that cleaning will be $20.He also will pay the other $300 of the $500 for the crown we did on a payment plan.We offered a longer payment plan but he didn't need it.He will post his story on my site he said.
